Super Eagles star Joe Aribo assisted twice in the Rangers’ 3-1 win over Braga in the Scottish team’s passage to the semifinal stage of the Europa League.
apart from Aribo, his compatriots Calvin Bassey and Leon Balogun were in action for Rangers with Bassey playing throughout the duration of the match while Balogun came in from the bench.
Aribo who was fielded throughout the match provided the assist to captain James Tavernier to put Rangers ahead while the goal tally was increased in the 44th minute by Tavernier through a penalty to give Rangers’ a 2-0 lead.
But Braga netted their own first goal in the 83rd minute through David Carmo to put the aggregate at 2-2 for the encounter to go into extra time.
In the 101st minute, Aribo provided another assist to Kemar Roofe who tapped in the third goal for the home side to give them a 3-1 lead and a place in the last four of the Europa League is their first in 14 years.
