Wife of Benue State governor, Dr. Eunice Ortom, has tasked the Benue girl child to be deliberate and committed while thriving to achieve their set goals in life, stressing that there is no height that cannot be achieved if they are diligent and focused.
The Benue First Lady stated this, Wednesday, at the session for young school girls at a two-day development programme organised by the Office of the First Lady for Women in Leadership, Politics and Administration and Young School girls.
The event was themed: “Empowering women and the Girl Child through mentoring: Step towards Economic, political, Enterprise and Social Stabilization.” Dr. Ortom emphasised that there is no better time to plan one’s life than the present age of the young girls, hence her commitment to providing an enabling platform for them to be mentored, tutored and inspired.
In their presentations, the panelists for the session which included the Director General of Benue Television, Dr. Ngunan Achakpa Ikyo, the C.E.O. of Star Shawarma, Ms. Mnena Ato, Barr. Hembafan Utange, Mrs. Ochanya Azer of Osgood Farms and Ms. Irene Awuna, all highlighted the various ways the Benue girl can achieve success and personal fulfilment, narrowing it down to mentorship as an integral step towards Economic, Political, and Social stabilisation.
The session was attended by over 100 girls from secondary schools within Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
