Members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo have honoured Chief Linus Richard Okwara, founder of the defunct Rimax Computers Institute, Lagos State.

They came from the branches of the foremost Igbo group in Lagos.

Ohanaeze President, Lagos State chapter, Chief Solomon Ogbonna, said Okwara was worthy of the title of ‘Father of Ndigbo’ in Lagos because of his numerous contributions to the group. He noted that no member of Ohanaeze has contributed financially and otherwise to the group as Okwara, adding he has helped many Igbo persons to find their feet in the state.

A member, Emeka Obioha, who described Okwara as his brother,  said the awardee deserved the honour. “He made many of us have homes in Lagos. He has touched many lives. He is a man of the people, very jovial,’’ he added.

Okwara praised the people for the recognition and promised to do more.

He recalled that Okwara is a forerunner in the IT subsector, having established the first computer school in Nigeria –Rimax Institute.
