Segun Adewale yesterday emerged as the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Lagos-West Senatorial District.
He defeated Mr Yomi Ogungbe at the primary election held at the Stadplus Event Centre Ikeja.
The delegates and party chieftains besieged the venue of the election, but the exercise did not commence until around 9:00 p.m. on Monday.
At the end of the exercise, Adewale was announced as the winner.
Adewale thanked the delegates for voting for him and pledged to work with members of the party to win the secondary election.
