‘Gbajabiamila not smuggling me into Reps race’

Speaker House of Rep

The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirant for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State, Seun Odofin, has denied allegations that Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila was smuggling him into the race.

Odofin, who was Gbajabiamila’s Special Adviser on Administration and Legislative Compliance, was reacting to a petition by the Concerned APC Stakeholders in Obokun/Ori-Ade Federal Constituency, seeking his disqualification and investigation into issuance of clearance certificate.

He said: “I remain one of the leading aspirants for the House of Representatives in 2023. I have demonstrated a clear knowledge of the assignment I am aspiring for, having gathered the needed experience from the incumbent Speaker of the House.

“I want to state here that I have resigned my appointment as stipulated by either the party’s constitution or the Electoral Act.”

Odofin added that he partook in the screening organised by the APC National Secretariat, and appealed to party members to ensure victory for Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the July 16 election.
