Lions club inaugurates projects

The International Association of Lions Club District 404B2- Region 3, has inaugurated some projects in Maryland, Oregun and Onigbongbo areas in Lagos.

The projects were jointly sponsored by members of the club in Ikeja Metro, Lagos Apex and Ikeja Crystal.

Some of the projects were a signage at the Oba’s Palace, Oregun, Home Economic Science Laboratory at Immaculate Junior High School Maryland, rehabilitating blocks of classrooms at Wasimi Community School, Maryland, toilet facility for nursery and primary school at Onigbongbo, amongst others.

According to Nigeria District Governor, Kayode Oshinuga, Lions club gives the communities what they required.

Oshinuga said: “Our club works with the local communities and they make requests. We use our intuition to discover their exact needs. For instance, we also provided water system for Wasimi School and West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) forms. The arch way into the Wasimi area to beautify the environment was also erected. We fixed the furniture at Oregun Secondary School, donated 15 laptops and laboratory furniture to the school. We also gave out solar panels and solar lamps for students to aid night reading.”

District Chairperson and Media and Public Relations officer, Blessing Umebali, said the clubs’ focused on beneficial projects.

Ikeja Crystal Lions Club representative, Tola Olukilede, said the projects would make the students and teachers comfortable.
