The National Coordinator of Women in Nigeria for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (WIN4ABAT) and Lagos State Secretary of Southwest Agenda for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (SWAGA’23), Alhaja Kafilat Ogbara, has clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest for the Kosofe Federal Constituency of the House of Representatives.

In a primary conducted by party officials, led by Mr. Fuad Oki at Ikosi Isheri LCDA secretariat at the weekend and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ogbara defeated her rival, Remi Odunsi Oluwagbon, with 44 to one votes. Forty-five delegates’ votes were accredited out of a total of 50.

Other contestants, Rotimi Agunsoye, Dayo Bush, and Abiodun Owokoya, did not get any vote.

The landslide victory validates the predictions of keen observers since she resigned her membership of the Lagos Audit Board Commission to join the race.

Addressing reporters after she was declared the winner, Ogbara described her victory as one for democracy.

She expressed gratitude to the delegates, the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Governor Babajide Sanwoolu; and Chairman of Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), Tajudeen Olusi, for their exemplary leadership.
