An agriculture and nutrition communication agency in partnership with Poultry Association of Nigeria, Ogun State chapter (PANOG) have launched a campaign to improve dietary diversity in children from six to 59 months.
The campaign: “Eggs Make Kids”, is funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
It was held to reinstate importance of eggs as a nutritious food and to increase egg consumption in children.
Project Coordinator at Wandieville Hope Ikani said the objective was to develop a shared understanding of intervention with stakeholders within the state and provide information on implementation.
She noted that dietary diversity in children will be achieved through intake of nutritious food to ensure they have a good start in life.
Ikani said the project activities, outcomes and upcoming market activation is set for launch next month in the six PAN hubs across Ogun state.
General Secretary of PANOG Dare Kuforiji said there should be awareness on benefits of feeding children eggs and we are glad to be part of it.
Commending Wandieville for bringing such initiative into the state, he encouraged his association to keep up the work even after the campaign ends.
Former Chairperson of PANOG Isioma Blessing said the campaign will improve egg consumption and purchasing power.
She stressed the commitment of PANOG to make “Eggs Make Kids” campaign a success.
