Named as a master storyteller by CNN, Jimi Solanke was one of the reasons many Nigerians enjoyed their childhood in the late 20th century. His time at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) was indeed a fruitful one before he retired into other areas of life.
For a while now, little has been heard about Solanke, who is also a singer and an actor. However, he will be honoured next month, precisely July 2, at the Choral Music Concert.
At the event that will be held at Methodist Cathedral of Peace and Excellence, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos, Solanke’s new musical works, ‘Oba Awon Oba,’ will be unveiled. The concert will serve as an opportunity for keen lovers of Solanke to reconnect with him and listen to his ‘special’ voice once again.
