Action Alliance gets governorship candidate in Lagos

The Action Alliance (AA) has adopted the former Secretary of the Congress for Progressives Change in Lagos State, Tope Abdurrazaq Balogun, as its governorship candidate in Lagos state.

Balogun emerged following his nomination and unanimous endorsement by the party members.

The primary election was held at the Airport Hotel, Ikeja with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in attendance.

Balogun immediately announced Badagry-born graduate of Mass Communication, Yemisi Henwa as his running mate

The party’s Deputy State Chairman, Abdul Rahman Zubayr Owonikoko, thereafter raised the hands of the party’s flagbearers amid songs and dance.

Balogun, an educational technologist promised to unseat Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the 2023 general elections.

Balogun emphasized that he would also be competing favourably with other aspirants and that he would do so with the masses behind him.

According to him, the masses’ rights have long being trapped upon and it is a privilege to be chosen to represent their common interest.

He promised to provide 150,000 jobs to solve unemployment and provide 24 mini vans for fire service emergency to able to mitigate the destruction.

He said: “I am competing favourably and that I why I am going through the route of the masses in the upcoming 2023 general elections. It is a privilege that we can elect people that can represent our common interest. The problem of our community is we the masses. Democracy and politics is a game of numbers. It is us who give them the chance.”

Balogun noted that having good governance is not rocket science but the only thing that makes it hard is because people fail to do the right thing at the right time.

“I want to stand head to head with those mismanaging our resources and those waiting to mismanage it as well. The resources of Lagos State will be judiciously managed to solve the problems of the masses. I am going to push forward the principle of equity. My message to APC for them to tidy their books of account and governance so that during the handing over date, they will not miss out anything.” he added.

 

Member of the Board of Trustee Olutusin Ola-Adebayo, said the party members would embark on house-to-house campaign.

 

He believed the party has what it takes to win the governorship election.

 

Lagosians should be awaiting the new Lagos rebirth from Action Alliance, he said.

 

An actress and House of Reps aspirant Bukky Ogunote, said the party’s love for the masses endeared it to her.

 

“If you listen to the slogan alone, you will know that indeed they’re in love with the masses. They want a better life for the masses. If they’re not really after the well-being of the masses, definitely, they will not say this to the world…This is not gainsaying and we are here for a serious business. We want to do it the way it supposed to be done,” she said.
