Four bandits killed, woman gunrunner held in Kaduna

Operatives of the Special Tactical Squad Force Headquarters, Abuja in conjunction with the Kaduna State Police Command have killed four suspected bandits and arrested a woman suspected to be an arms supplier to criminals.

Police spokesman Muhammad Jalige confirmed the development in a statement yesterday.

Jalige said the troops also recovered AK49 and AK47 rifles with magazine, 134 live ammunition and one operational vehicle after overpowering the bandits.

“On 15th June, 2022 at about 0650hrs while on the trail of suspected armed bandits, the operatives intercepted their target along Saminaka-Jos Expressway in a Sharon vehicle driven by one James Dawim, 31, of Vom town, Jos South LGA Plateau State.

“The suspected bandits on sensing an unavoidable danger posed in their way to deliver some dangerous weapons to their cohorts, immediately engaged the operatives,  firing. However, the operatives with tactical precision were able to terminally injure four suspects.

“The injured suspects were evacuated to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital Kaduna where they were pronounced dead by a medical doctor.

“The operation led to the arrest of a female accomplice, who, during the course of investigation, confessed to be supplying arms and ammunition to bandits within Kaduna State.”
