ADP governorship candidate pledges good governance

The Action Democratic Party (ADP)

Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in tomorrow’s Ekiti State governorship election Mrs. Kemi Elebute-Halle has promised the people of transparency and good governance if elected as governor.

Elebute-Halle, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Oye-Ekiti, said if elected, she would accord priority to women development and improve the standard of living of civil servants, farmers, traders and artisans.

The Oke-Ayedun born politician in Ikole Local Government Area said one of her major agenda was to lead the people to ‘rescue and recover Ekiti from the clutches of bad leadership, slavery, and resources plundering’.

According to her, state resources will be properly utilised to eradicate poverty.

She added: “I have come with the determination to transform, rebuild and salvage Ekiti from the clutches of bad leadership and slavery.

“We have civil servants, traders and artisans who are suffering and find it difficult to feed their children, and sponsor their children to a good school. I will create an enabling environment and policy that will ensure improved agricultural system for farmers and good schools.

“They will be provided with adequate facilities, better infrastructure and free medical health services that will benefit women and children. A vote for my party, ADP, and Kemi Elebute-Halle, will bring newness and positive change, as well as true dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of my people.

Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Wole Oluyede has warned against thuggery and violence during and after the election.

Oluyede, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday in Ado-Ekiti, said the warning became imperative in order not to create panic in the electorate and the need to avoid the use of thugs toward ensuring free and fair election.

According to Oluyede, a free and fair election can only be achieved on Saturday ‘if politicians give peace a chance and avoid all forms of violence and thuggery’.

He appealed to the voters to resist any attempt by desperate politicians to buy their conscience through vote-buying. Oluyede hoped that politicians will allow the election work for a better and developed Ekiti.

“I pray and hope that the people will be able to make their choices. This is the only way to make the electorate earn the dividend of democracy and develop the state,” he said.
