Deputy Governorship candidates of the three major contending political parties in today’s election in Ekiti State are in a race to secure majority votes in Ikere local government area.
The major contending parties are Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Social Democratic Party(SDP).
All the three candidates hail from Ikere local government.
The choice of picking candidates from the area is because Ikere is the second largest town in the State and has the highest voting population in Ekiti South senatorial district.
There was huge turn out of voters as monitored by The Nation in various polling units visited.
