TO commemorate the upcoming ’World Music Day’ on June 21, Make Music Nigeria (Make Music Lagos) has announced plans for the ‘Make Music Day 2022.’
The Make Music Nigeria team said that celebrations will kickoff across Lagos and other Nigerian cities from June 16, and run till June 26, 2022.
The event, which is in its seventh year in Nigeria, will have cities such as Abuja, Uyo, Ibadan, Owerri, and Ado-Ekiti join for the first time.
According to Team Lead, Make Music Nigeria, Adeola Akinyemi, the event promises to be extra special as it also marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the global celebration which was first celebrated as Fête de la Musique in Paris in 1982 under the direction Jack Lang (then Minister of Culture of France) and Maurice Fleuret.
The series of events will come to an end with Make Music Lagos ‘Shutdown Concert’ on June 26 at Muri Okunola Park and would have Johnny Drille, Magixx, Cavemen, Helen Ibe, Mike Abdul, Sunkey Daniels as headliners.
