The return flights of Nigerian pilgrims from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) back home will begin tomorrow.

Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alhaji Zikirullah Kunle Hassan, announced this at the ongoing post-Arafat meeting in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The NAHCOM chairman thanked Allah that despite the challenges of missing hajj for two years, pilgrims were able to make this year’s edition.

“We have challenges of late preparations because the information came late from the Saudi Arabian government, coupled with the cancellation of 25 flights.

“Going forward, we must start preparation for the 2023 exercise now with priority for those who didn’t make it this year,” he said.

Nigerian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Yahaya Lawan, congratulated NAHCON and the pilgrims for having successful hajj operation.

“We also pray for a successful return of all back home,” he said.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Adamu Bulkachuwa, congratulated the pilgrims for performing this year’s exercise after missing it for two consecutive years due to COVID-19.

The senator said many other pilgrims who could not make it this year were disappointed, having waited for two years.
