Alumni association gets excos

The Lagelu Grammar School, Old Boys Association (LAGSOBA, 1993 set), Agugu, Ibadan, Oyo State, have elected new executive members to run its affairs for the next three years.

The handing over and presentation of the new leadership held at the Senior Civil Service Club in Total Garden, Ibadan.

Chairman Abideen Akinola expressed delight at the opportunity to lead the group for the next three years. He thanked the outgoing leaders for the openness, accountability and transparency in running the association, and particularly lauded the welfare committee for the various support to members, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Akinola said: “The following are what we shall focus on immediately – promote peaceful coexistence and unity among members; promote accountability and transparency in running all affairs of this association, especially in financial reporting.

“I believe one of the aims and objectives of our alumni is to support and uplift members. This shall be one of our critical focus areas. This shall be achieved through introduction of programmes channelled towards welfare development…”

Outgoing Chairman Oluleke Ishola, in his valedictory speech, thanked the members for support, but lamented that his administration could not deliver on all its visions due to the emergence of COVID-19 pandemic.

He urged members to support the new leadership, and appealed that it build on the structured system of accounting and uncompromising obedience to due process in the management of the association’s fund which his administration is leaving behind as one of its legacies.
