CAF names Ogunmuyiwa for Beach soccer qualifiers

Four Nigerian referees have been shortlisted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate in the forthcoming 2022 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers between Ghana and Egypt on July 23.

According to the continental football body, Jelili Ogunmuyiwa, will serve as centre referee for the game at Laboma Beach, Accra.

Ogunmuyiwa will be assisted by compatriots Olawale Fawole, who will serve as referee 2 and Ola (assistant referee 2), while Ahmed Rabiu will serve as the time keeper for the game.

Senegal’s Omar Ndiaye is the match commissioner for the game, while Chadian Waldabet Koissoual is the referee assessor.

Meanwhile, after missing the last edition, Nigeria’s Supersand Eagles will be eager to make their comeback in the continental showdown, but first the two-time African champions would battle Libya in a two-leg playoff for a spot in Mozambique later in the year.
