An Islamic scholar currently on Hajj in Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdur-Rahman Maigona, is dead.
The cleric, from Gombe State, died at Namma Mawadda Hotel in Makkah days after completing hajj rites. He was said to have complained of illness before he passed on.
According to an eye witness, the Islamic scholar proclaimed Khalimah Shahadah (Laila Islamic lahu – There’s no God except Allah) before he gave up.
Islamic scholars agreed that such proclamation is sign that the person will enjoy the blessings of Allah.
The late Sheikh Maigona’s remains have been taken to Masjid Haram for Janazah and internment.
