New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has picked Bishop Isaac Idahosa as his running mate for the 2023 general election.
The party made the announcement on its official Twitter page yesterday.
“Our VP, Pastor Bishop Isaac Idahosa, from Edo State,” the party tweeted. Idahosa, 57, is the presiding Bishop, God First Ministry, also known as Illumination Assembly, with its headquarters at Lekki Light Centre (LLC), Ajah, Lagos.
The church was started in Minna, Niger State, more than 25 years ago, after he gave his life to Christ in 1979.
His ministry is rumoured to be worth over N3 billion.
The bishop is also a gospel musician with three albums to his credit.
Idahosa grew up in Niger State where he had his formal education, enjoying scholarship up to the university level.

He is married to Christie Idahosa and blessed with two children.
Also, the National Vice Chairman (Northwest) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Salihu Lukman, has ruled out Kwankwaso as a threat to the electoral victory of the ruling party in the zone in the 2023 presidential poll.
He dismissed the fear being expressed that Kwankwaso, as the only presidential candidate from the zone, may sweep the majority of the votes from the area at the expense of APC, which is currently in control of the zone.
The Northwest returned the highest votes of over 42 per cent of the total votes cast in the 2015 and 2019 general elections.
Addressing reporters yesterday in Abuja, Lukman said: “We have made it very clear. The difference between APC in 2015 and Kwankwaso in 2023 is that APC was grounded in the minds of people. You can see for yourself. But in the case of other parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), what they are hoping for; they are waiting for us (APC) to mismanage ourselves, based on which they pack whatever we are not able to achieve.
“The reality is that we are not taking anything for granted. We are not dismissing people. We are going to work hard. That is why we consult among our leaders and members who are trying to organise the party for victory at the polls come next year.”
