An alleged plot in the Niger State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to replace the governorship candidate, Isah Liman Kantigi thickens.

The Nation learnt that there are meetings to get Kantigi to drop from the governorship race.

It is alleged that one of the governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who lost at the primaries, Alhaji Idris Malagi and some of his supporters, are said to have begun moves to defect to the PDP as speculations are high that he is being tipped to replace Kantigi as the PDP governorship flagbearer.

It was also gathered that the Niger State PDP Executives and some elders allegedly held high-powered talks with Malagi behind closed doors in Abuja, even though the details of the meetings have not been made known to the public or other members.

Several PDP chieftains have been speaking about the visit of PDP Executives to the APC governorship aspirant as they are all in support of it. But some are already preparing for the legal actions they would take should Malagi be used to replace Kantigi as the PDP flagbearer.

One of the top media Aides in the Niger State PDP, Usman Mohammed took to his Facebook page to commend the move of the executives and elders to woo Malagi to the PDP.

Applauding Malagi’s qualities and achievements, he said the APC should be mourning and declaring a state of emergency for not being able to field such a towering figure.
