Tinubu to present Shettima Wednesday

Standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next year’s presidential election Asiwaju Bola Ahmed will tomorrow present Senator Kashim Sheitima as his running mate to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling party.

Tinubu announced Shettima as his choice on July 4 in Daura, Kastina State after talks with President Muhammadu Buhari during a Sallah visit.

Last night, a statement by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Suliaman Muhammadu Arugungu, confirmed that the unveiling of Shettima will hold at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja by 11am prompt.

Expected to host Tinubu and his running mate in Abuja are the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and other NWC and National Executive Committee (NEC) members.

Others are members of the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF), members of the APC Caucus in the National Assembly, members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), members of the Diplomatic Corps and all presidential aspirants at the June 2022 Special Convention.

Other dignitaries invited to witness the occasion are all states chairmen, secretaries and organising secretaries.

Shettima’s presentation, which was originally billed for last Wednesday, was rescheduled for this week.

Though no reason was given for the rescheduling, but a party source said the on-going renovation at the National Secretariat informed the postponement.
