Alakija puts smiles on faces

BUSINESSWOMAN, Apostle Folorunso Alakija, has put smiles on the faces of women through her empowerment programme.

She has awarded business grants of N2 million to 100 female entrepreneurs out of the N2 billion fund earmarked to empower 2,500 women in five years.

At a ceremony where the funds were awarded, Alakija said the plan was to empower women who would empower other women to close the economic inequality gap.

“In line with the popular saying, ‘when you empower a woman, you empower the whole world,’ I am delighted to say that we are grooming the next generation of business leaders whose informed choices in business and life will positively impact their families, communities and in the long run contribute to the socio-economic development of Nigeria,” she said.

Top personalities present during the award ceremony included Ms. Aisha Babangida, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, H.E Mrs. Sarah Adebisi Sosan, Ms. Alero Adollo, Mrs. Funmi Ogbue, Mrs. Eme Akenzua, Ms. Maureen Onigbanjo, Mrs. Kehinde Kamson, Chief Mrs. Tessa Ikimi, Hajia Abba Folawiyo, Mrs. Mavi Isibor, Lady Onyeka Onwenu, Pastor Mrs. Doreen Orakpo, Dr. Mrs. Stella Okoli, Chief Mrs. Nike Akande, and Mrs. Adesua Adewole.
