Rotary restates commitment to vulnerable communities in Lagos

The Rotary Club of Gbagada, led by its President, Rotarian Alozie Nsirimobi has restated its commitment toward alleviating the suffering of poor and vulnerable in Alade Market and its environs in Lagos during the District Governor, District 9110, Lagos and Ogun state, Rotarian Omotunde Lawson’s visit to the club..

Nsirimobi said this as its open its new Hall of Fame in Alade and donation to Gbagada General Hospital mattresses, trolleys, baby scales, cartons of drugs, among others.

According To him, we believe in exemplifying and embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion which are part of everything we do at Rotary.

He stated that Rotary club Gbagada is working on the need assessment of the problems of vulnerable people living in Alade market and we are poised toward providing workable and pragmatic solutions to them.

“This hall of fame will go a long way in helping to keep our laurels and provide a convergence for implementing some of our humanitarian gestures in the area”, he said.

Speaking further, Nsirimobi, who described the occasion as historical, said the club was also at Gbagada General Hospital to do what it knows how to do best, which includes giving to humanity and to the less privileged.

“The District Governor is visiting our club today and we are taking advantage of her visit to showcase one of the things we do in our club which is service to humanity.

Rotarian Omotunde Lawson in her remarks She described the club as a multiple award winner, having won the best club award due to its laudable project and touching lives in all the seven areas of Rotary International focus

She lauded the club for its consistency by making the donation of equipment to the hospital an annual ritual as she demanded the conspicuous display of the Rotary logo all over the hospital.

“What Rotary Club of Gbagada is doing today is what we do as a body of Rotary. The club has been donating to this hospital and will continue to render its services to the less privileged who cannot afford the cost of treatment. We also donate blood and the amount of money spent on drugs we are donating today cannot be quantified.
