Ahead of this season’s round of 16 games of the ongoing Higher Institution Football League (HiFL), Coaches of various teams have started talking tough.
Organized by Pace Sports and supported by StanbicIBTC, Bold, Lagos Internal Revenue Services and Indomie Noodles, the novel HiFL is in its fourth active season.
Billed for tomorrow is the game between AAUA Luminaries and LASU Blazers at the Adekunle Ajasin University Sports Complex in Akungba by 4 pm as the contest promises to be a thrilling fixture as the two teams are very well balanced.
“ We has shown constant improvement with every passing game and with the spotlight on us this season to see how far we go, we are more motivated than ever to bring our A game and go ahead to make a statement in this round of 16 games,” AAUA Luminaries’ coach Abuo Joseph said.
He added “I have watched the tapes and seen their pattern of play, they are clever on the attack, but with my team, it will be difficult to score. From our strategy and quality at the back, it will be a mountain to climb for any team wanting to score against us in the competition”.
Yet coach of LASU Blazers, Coach Bamidele Omosaye, is optimistic that his team can cause an upset in this round of 16 cracker against the Luminaries having gone back to the drawing board to ensure his side takes their chance and excel.
In other fixtures for the week, UNN Lions will host the Uniport Sharks of the University of Port-Harcourt in Enugu while FUTMinna Transformers will tackle KSU Steelers from Kogi State University in Minna.
Defending champions UNIMAID Desert Warriors will host BUK Stallions who are looking to go past this stage for the first time in the league.
