President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Suleiman Umar as the substantive Rector of Kaduna Polytechnic.
The appointment took effect from June 27, 2022 and is for a period of a five-year single tenure.
Dr. Umar, who hails from Kaduna South Local Government Area, holds a doctorate (Ph.D) in Mathematics Education from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is a professional member of Mathematics Association of Nigeria (MAN).
A statement by the polytechnic’s Deputy Registrar, Information and Protocol, Mr. Samuel Y. Obochi, said the new Rector had served as Head of Department of the Mathematics and Statistics; Director of Academic Planning and Deputy Rector of Administration at the polytechnic.
Until his substantive appointment, Dr. Umar was the Acting Rector of the institution.
