Former Flying Eagles striker Victor Boniface was again on target as Bodo/Glimt thrashed Linfield 8-0 to progress in style to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League yesterday.
The Norwegian club thus advanced 8-1 in aggregate having lost their away tie 1-0 last week.
Boniface scored his club’s second goal in the 21st minute from the penalty spot.
In the third qualifying round next week, Bodo/Glimt will take on the winners between Malmo (Sweden) and Zalgiris (Lithuania)
Last season, Bodo/Glimt featured in the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.
Elsewhere, former Nigeria U17 international Yusuf Otubanjo scored twice for Armenian club Pyunik to beat F91 Dudelarge 4-1 to qualify them to the next round of UEFA Champions League qualifiers 4-2 on aggregate.
Otubanjo equalised for his side 1-1 in the 24th minute before making it 3-1 in the 76th minute.
Otubanjo lasted for 87 minutes when he was replaced with Gevorg Najaryan.
Clubs will qualify for the group stage of the Champions League after the playoffs.
