Court adjourns suit seeking to nullify APC candidates’ nomination

A Federal High Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has adjourned a suit seeking to nullify the nominations of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the House of Assembly election.

Some APC aspirants had approached the court to challenge the nominations of some of APC’s candidates into assembly seats.

In the suit, the plaintiffs claimed that the nomination of the candidates contravened the party’s legal framework and the Electoral Act.

While Mr. Ayodeji Adarabierin and Nike Popoola are challenging the nomination of former aide of Governor Kayode Fayemi, Mr. Ayo Adegite, for Ado constituency 2, another aspirant, Mr. Jide Akintola,  is challenging the nomination of Mrs. Bolaji Olagbaju-Egbeyemi into the position of House of Assembly Ado Constituency 2.

Justice Bab. Kuewumi adjourned the case till September 27, while that of Ajisafe and Akintola was adjourned till October 10.
