No fewer than 31 beneficiaries have received cash and other items as Zakat from the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADSN) Lagos State.
In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Sulaimon Ibitoye, the organisation said the event was seen as a remarkable day in the life of the beneficiaries because it fell on the 31st of July, the second of Muharram (first month of the Islamic calendar)
According to its Chairman, Alhaji Kamorudeen Salami, it is a point of duty for the Society to give to the needy.
Quoting Quran 41:7, Salami urged every well-meaning Muslims to pay Zakat to the Society as it is their religious duty.

He said that the beneficiaries were cut across different religions and tribes.
“The society does not discriminate when it comes to disbursement of Zakat. 31, beneficiaries were screened and shortlisted. Some who needed equipment to aid their businesses were given and those in need of money also received it.”
He urged all the recipients to use the money and items given judiciously. “We pray to Almighty Allah to enrich the pockets of those who pay their Zakat through the society and may He make the Society grow from strength to strength. May Allah make all of us succeed individually and collectively.
