ALL Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has approved the composition of the Media and Communication Directorate of the ruling party’s Presidential Campaign Council.
The Council’s Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, yesterday announced the approval in a statement he issued in Abuja.
Onanuga said the directorate is made up of three departments, which he listed as: Public Affairs, Media & Publicity and Strategic Communication.
He, however, said that the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, will continue his role as the spokesman (Director of Public Affairs) of the council.
The statement named one-time Lagos Commissioner for Information and Strategy Dele Alake, as the Director of Strategic Communication.
Alake, a seasoned editor, played a similar role during the Buhari campaign between 2014 and 2015.
According to the statement, Onanuga, the Managing Director of The News/PMNews and former Managing Director of News Agency of Nigeria will serve as the Director, Media and Publicity.
The statement further revealed that the directorate will also have six deputy directors. They include Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu (Deputy Director, Communication Strategy); Hannatu Musawa (Deputy Director, Public Affairs) and Kehinde Bamigbetan (Deputy Director, Media Relations);
Others are: Mallam Modibbo Kawu (Deputy Director, Media and Publicity); Mohammed Bulama (Deputy Director, Multi-Media and Seun Olufemi-White (Deputy Director, New Media).
The arrangement has a line of other assistant directors and senior officials, representing the nation’s various regions with their job specifications spelt out.
Onanuga spoke of plans by the campaign structure to unveil representatives and spokesmen in all the states of the federation.
