Lagos State Government has assured Apapa stakeholders that it would not relent in its efforts to eradicate gridlock on the Mile2-Tincan axis.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, who made this known yesterday at a meeting with stakeholders on the maritime corridor, said despite the success recorded in managing traffic flow in and out of Apapa Port, the government was trying to resolve the challenges plaguing the ongoing construction of the Mile2-Tin Can axis.
He said the concerns of the truckers and the construction company, Hi-tech, had been well noted by the Traffic Management Enforcement Team, adding that they would be engaged to create and implement a lasting solution to reduce the gridlock on the lane inbound Tin Can Port.
Giwa said the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration would continue its engagements with stakeholders to ensure cooperation and speed in rounding off construction of the port access roads and ensure seamless movement in and out of Apapa and its environs.
The special adviser said Okada operations are still prohibited in Apapa despite recalcitrant riders seen flouting the ban.
