The Chairman, Senate Committee on Industries and the lawmaker representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, and officials from the Federal Ministry of Works, led by Adedamola Kuti, director, Highway Southwest, and representatives of the contractor, Arab Contractors, led by Area Manager, Huzem Monuir, have inspected the reconstructed Ikorodu/ Sagamu Road, which is almost completed.
Despite the rains, motorists had a hitch-free journey on the road that used to be a nightmare for commuters, motorists and residents.
The 30 Km road was in a deplorable condition for almost 40 years due to neglect until 2018 when the Federal Government awarded it for reconstruction.
However, due to paucity of funds, the work dragged on, causing pains for commuters, motorists, companies and those living along the corridor.
