MC Oluomo to park officials: don’t join illegal organisations

Chairman of Parks and Garages Management Committee, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo) yesterday warned members of the agency against belonging to secret cults.

He spoke against the backdrop of the killing of one of their officials,  Sulaimon Lawal (aka Ariku), reportedly in a cult clash. “I have said it on several occasions that our work is a noble one which requires people of good character. This will erase the wrong perception out there. Lawal’s case is unfortunate. It will make us look into screening of our members the more to flush out the bad eggs among us,” he said.

Akinsanya called on the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators and curb future occurrences.

Meanwhile, the Parks and Garages Management Committee, Ikosi-Isheri Branch ‘E’, has written to the state Management Committee to assist them in restoring security to the park.

In a letter signed yesterday by the Secretary, Comrade Adeyemi Adebola, the Branch ‘E’ members said they are conducting their activities in fear.

While announcing the death of Lawal, the body lamented insecurity in the Mile 12 area of their jurisdiction.

The branch said: “We use this medium to seek your assistance to curb the insecurity in our area. All the stakeholders in the transportation sector in the area are afraid of being the next target.”
