The Minister of State for Transportation, Prince Ademola Adegoroye, has said All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, will create more wealth and usher in more prosperity in Nigeria, if he becomes President in 2023.

He said the former Lagos State governor would use his vast experience to bring more prosperity and development to the country.

Adegoroye spoke in Akure, the Ondo State capital, while addressing a stakeholders’ meeting of the party in Akure South Local Government Area.

Those at the meeting included elders and leaders of the APC, local government executives, ward exco members as well as 20 additional leaders from each of the 11 wards in the locality.

He said: “Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is a thoroughbred politician who understands what the people need. He knows the grassroots and identifies with the masses. Asiwaju understands what the people wants, and I can assure you that it won’t take him long to settle down to work.

“This meeting is very important for us to rub minds and iron out whatever differences exist among party leaders and members so that our victory in 2023 can be total. All our candidates have to win convincingly and the only way we can do that is to unite as one big family.”

APC State Chairman Ade Adetimehin described the meeting as a new dawn in Akure South APC.

Also, the leadership of the APC in Delta North Senatorial District has promised to ensure victory for all the party’s candidates.

The party leaders spoke at the meeting convened by a chieftain, Dr. Ngozi Olejeme.

They assured party members that APC’s hold on the grassroots in Delta North would guarantee bloc votes for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.

The meeting unanimously agreed and announced a Leadership Council, to be chaired by Dr. Olejeme, while former House of Assembly Speaker Victor Ochei was named Chairman of Elections Management Committee.

Ochei listed the strategies for winning the 2023 general election and what should be done for all-round victory for APC candidates.

Addressing reporters after the meeting, the deputy governorship candidate, Friday Osanebi, announced that winning the votes in the senatorial district for the APC dominated discussions at the meeting.

He did not divulge the details of the meeting except that the party leaders discussed winning strategies that would remain the party’s secrets.

In similar tone, Olejeme said: “Our strategies remain our secret because if we let it out, then the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can also adopt it and beat us to the game. So, we are holding that close to our chests.

“But one thing we know is that we, by the grace of God, must deliver our governorship candidate, who is the Deputy Senate President now, Ovie Omo-Agege; the deputy, Friday Osanebi; then in the federal, our candidate, the APC candidate, the much-loved Asiwaju, must be delivered because we are going to dance in Aso Rock on May 29, 2023.”

Also, a chieftain of the APC in Enugu State, Dr. Ben Nwoye, has donated his personal residential building in Enugu to the Tinubu/Shetima Campaign project.

Nwoye, who is the immediate past chairman of the APC in the state, said the furnished storey building will serve as the Tinubu/Shetima Independence Campaign office and call centre for Enugu State.

He said the office will be used to reach out to voters in all the nooks and crannies of the state, including polling units.

According to him, the gesture is part of his personal support and contribution to the APC’s presidential flag bearer, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, adding that “this office will enable us run a formidable campaign when the time comes”.

Nwoye, a serving Commissioner in the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, (FCCPC), representing the Southeast, expressed optimism that the APC and its presidential candidate will win the 2023 election.

Addressing reporters at the campaign office, he said: “This Tinubu/Shetima Independent Campaign office will also serve as a call centre. We are going to use it to reach out to all our over 184,000 registered members, and the entire Enugu voters, particularly those at the grassroots.

“The platform will also serve as a political vehicle to market to the electorate, the tremendous huge infrastructural and human capital projects the APC-led Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari has executed in the Southeast since it took over mantle of leadership of the country.”
