The Chairman of Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area in Lagos, Sanyaolu Olowoopejo, has opened a newly-built Legislative Building.
The commissioning was done by the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader in Alimosho, Alhaji Abdullahi Enilolobo, and member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Kehinde Joseph.
The opening of the building was part of activities to mark Olowoopejo’s second term’s one year in service.
Olowoopejo described the building as a landmark.
“I’m grateful to God for counting us worthy of witnessing this historic occasion. This feat wouldn’t have been possible but for some notable committed members of our great party (APC) in Egbe-Idimu and Alimosho as a whole. I must also thank you all for the confidence reposed in us. For a fact, we did not get here alone, we rode on the back of giants to achieve victory,” he said.
He thanked Alhaji Enilolobo and other party leaders for efforts.
“It will interest you to also know that the legislative building we are gathered here to commission was constructed, completed and furnished tastefully with state of the art facilities within a space of four months. I make bold to say that the chamber of the Councillors is world class and in fact all the offices of the Councillors. This is dexterity, commitment and selflessness in display as we have restrained ourselves from some luxuries to make this achievable,” he said.
According to him, the building would also be housing some of Head of Departments who have been working in annexe offices so that reaching out to them would be easier and conducive working environment be created.
Olowoopejo said: “Let me put on record that we strive to contribute meaningfully to the development of our LCDA in terms of projects, programmes and activities. To my dismay, some people ignorantly have been peddling rumours that we did not do anything, even to the extent of going on air. My appeal to such people is to verify facts before going on air. There are glaring pictorial evidences for people to see because pictures don’t lie, instead of speaking, a visit to the places would convince any doubting Thomas… I’m promising that the next three years of our administration will be rewarding, loaded with more achievements as we prepare for the next Presidential election which by God’s grace will usher in our political father and National leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President of Nigeria by 2023.”
The council chairman appealed to people to pay their duties and rates promptly to complement the federal allocation and hitherto propel the wheel of progress.
Alhaji Enilolobo hailed Olowoopeju for the feat.
He urged him to do more for the residents.
