The Araba Olalemi family, in conjunction with Mabudeje Royal Family of Agbowa Ikosi in Ikosi Ejirin Local Development Council, has celebrated its yearly Odun Ifa festival .
Ifa Azeez said ‘’it is the culture to celebrate every August 20 with offering of yam to Ogun as well as Obantala Osun Orisanla, Orese Igbo and Obantala Obatagun Ikokole. Thereafter, the people could eat the new yam’’
On why they identify with yam only, the priest said it was because other crops could not face the oracle as yam.
The festival, also referred to as Isese, Ifa Azeez noted, was also about Ijo Orunmila Odulanwo African culture.
Next year, he said, the organisers would invite key custodians of Yoruba culture to the festival.
Baba Olu Ebi of Mabudeje Royal family Babatunde Adenusi urged the governor to protect them from land-grabbers giving the people of Agbowa sleepless nights.
