A governorship aspirant and a chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Mr. Oyedele Alao, has berated Governor Seyi Makinde for performing below expectation.
He said the people should speak out and put Makinde’s administration on its toes, adding APC would take over power from Makinde-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration.
A statement by Alao’s media office said roads in Ibadan and other towns had become impassable.
He said the directive by the governor to local government chairmen directing them to submit the list of five kilometres of roads to be repaired was an admittance of failure and confirmation that there was no autonomy for councils to operate.
On the ranking of Oyo State as No. 33 of 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Alao said it was shameful and a failure for a state that had produced prominent individuals to find itself in such a situation.
