Seven travellers have died in a road crash involving two vehicles on the Iluomoba-Aisegba Highway in Gbonyin council area of Ekiti State.

The crash which occurred on Wednesday evening when an 18-passenger bus and a Toyota car had an head-on collision.

An eyewitness told our correspondent yesterday that one of the vehicles was trying to avoid a pothole and lost control, colliding with the oncoming vehicle.

Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, Olusola Joseph, said 17 passengers were in the two vehicles, 19, as was initially rumoured.
