Chairman of Executive Trainers Ltd Dr. Ayo Ogunsan has been nominated as ‘Man of the Year’ by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).
The conference and award ceremony will hold on September 21, at the National Security Conference and Awards, with the theme: ‘Crime Prevention and Intelligence Gathering: Institutionalising Citizen Participation, Technology and Way Forward’.
It will be chaired by former Ogun State Governor Chief Segun Osoba, and it will attract people from all walks of life, including top government officials, the diplomatic community, security experts and youths.
Ogunsan, who is also a member of the Board of Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), will be special guest of honour.
The awardee, who hailed the organisers, noted that the role of the media could not be undermined in the promotion of peace and unity.
He said security agencies and other stakeholders would work in securing lives and property across the country.
Ogunsan, who acknowledged the commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to security, urged community leaders, youths and civil society organisations to keep up the security efforts in a bid to expose criminals in the society.
He also enjoined the media to sustain its noble role in strengthening good governance and credible leadership at all levels, saying global best practices must be demonstrated in the practice of journalism for the sake of nation-building.
