Stop selling community land, family head warns warring factions

community land

Head of Oke Imuye chieftaincy family of Iseri Osun, in Lagos State, Chief Imam Mustapha Akanni Akinolu has warned the extended family members to stop selling the family land which has created a lot of tension in the community and led to a power tussle in the family.

While settling a long-time dispute between the traditional ruler of Iseri Osun, Chief Raman Inufele, and some family members who had been at loggerhead over the family land for a long time, Akinolu warned that the crisis will not bring any good tidings to the community and at the long run create a wide gap between members of the same family.

He said all the disputes should come with a strong warning to both parties to desist from selling any further land and also vacate the village until both parties are pacified.

Responding, Chief Inufele said he was not aware of what was going on until one Musibau came to him for resolution with regards to some portion of the land which some people claimed to have been bought from one Boripe, a deceased member of the family and many issues unfolded which led to friction within the family.
