Spanish LaLiga side Real Sociedad has confirmed that injured Super Eagles forward, Sadiq Umar will have the surgery on his injured knee on Thursday at Gasteiz also in Spain.
The 25-year-old forward copped an injury on Sunday in Real Sociedad’s 2-1 away loss to Getafe and was diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in the right leg after series of tests on Monday.
He was confirmed to have ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament which automatically ruled him out of the season.

The club initially said Umar would commence physiotherapy sessions on the knee for the swollen to subside but La Real Doctor, Mikel Sanchez confirmed on the club’s official website that the Nigerian would have the surgery on Thursday at Gasteiz which is the capital of the Basque Autonomous Community in northern Spain.
“Sadiq Umar will undergo surgery for the rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee by Dr Mikel Sánchez next Thursday, September 15, in Gasteiz,” the club confirmed.
The Nigeria International has been in excellent form after he completed a switch from UD Almeria on transfer and opened his goal account for The Blues &Whites when he netted the equalizer against Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
