The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chemstar Group, manufacturer of Finecoat and Shield Paints, and other allied paints products, Dr. Remi Awode, has distributed over N15 million to members of Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church, Divine Blessing Cathedral (DBC), Alagbado, Lagos.
Each of the 100 beneficiaries year’s financial assistance received N150,000 as a business stimulus to boost their businesses and improve their socio-economic well-being.
Awode, who is 59 years old, doled out millions of naira yearly under his pet project, the Remi Awode Foundation (RAF), as part of activities to mark his birthday, which is being celebrated on September 7 every year.
RAF, a philanthropic initiative, was instituted on January 27, 2013 for the church with initial N20 million.
primarily as an arm of evangelism and to particularly assist the less-privileged members of the congregation in bringing succour and put smiles to their faces, and meaning to their businesses.

According to Awode, a Senior Special Apostle of C&S Movement Church, the gesture is part of his core determination to ensure better living for all members of the church, his love for others and contribution to humanity and the society at large.
Part of the aims of the Foundation, he noted, is to empower and sponsor members of the church by training them in various vocations and skill acquisition programmes of their choice, as well as provide financial assistance to them in order to be self-reliant and economically, financially independent.
Apart from the yearly financial assistance, several students have also benefitted under the RAF Scholarship Scheme, and Vocational and Skill Acquisition Programmes for both youths and adults of the church, amidst other welfare initiatives.
