An explosive planted behind an open bar in the ATC area of Ardo Kola LGA of Taraba State, exploded on Sunday night.
No casualty was however recorded.
The Nation reports that the explosion was heard miles away from the scene , which is at the vicinity of the State University and the outskirts of Jalingo the State capital.
The fence of the bar was pulled down while half of a nearby building was destroyed.
Police described the blast an Improvised Explosive Devise (IED).
A survivor, Christy Nukani, who sells pepper soup at the bar, narrated how she escaped death from the explosion.
The woman, whose shop is located just behind the point of explosion, is still in shock and thankful for being alive when she spoke with The Nation on Monday morning.

“I was just inside my shop around 8pm about to close. We didn’t have light so I tried to charge up my phone. I was sitting inside and a few minutes later, I felt something like an earthquake. Something lifted me up and threw me away. I shouted, Jesus! Jesus!! I saw smoke all around me. That is all I can say. I do not know how I came out of that place. I saw people running. They left me behind. That was how I survived… Honestly, my chest, my neck feels heavy. I just have a little bruise on my hand. I thank God that I am alive,” she narrated.
As at the time of filing this report, the anti-bomb squad of the Police have cordoned the area and carrying out investigation.
The Police spokesman, Abdullahi Usman, confirmed the issue via a text. “It has been verified that there was an explosion of IED, but no casualties pls,” he stated.
The latest bomb blast is the fourth this year in Taraba.
Similar blasts occurred in Iware in Ardo Kola local government area and Nukkai in Jalingo all targeted at drinking joints as well as an army base in Jalingo between the months of April and now.
