Telecoms provider, FCT partner on essay for pupils

Telecoms provider, 9mobile, has keyed into this year’s UNESCO’s Literacy Day by introducing an  essay competition for senior secondary school pupils in Abuja.

It announced this at a news conference to call for entries.     Executive Director of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, Abdulrahman Ado, represented by PR Lead, Chineze Amanfo, reiterated the company’s commitment to strengthen education.

She said the competition, with the theme: ‘How is overpopulation becoming a global pandemic to the environment?’ will focus on environment and sustainability awareness.

Amanfo said this year’s competition is exclusive to Senior Secondary School pupils in FCT, Abuja, in collaboration with FCT Education Secretariat.

She addede that entry is free and that call for entries will last till September 22.

Director of Admin & Finance at the Education Secretariat Malam Leramoh Abdulrazaq, on behalf of the Secretary for Education, Sani Dahir El-katuzu, lauded 9mobile for the initiative and expressed willingness to provide support to ensure its success.

A member of the panel of judges, Johnson Abbaly, said: all entries will be sent to 9mobileenvironmentessay@gmail.com and top 10 will be shortlisted.
