Lagos urges compliance with procurement law

Lagos State Head of Service (HoS) Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola has urged stakeholders in the procurement agency to comply with the procurement laws, to ease transaction of business.

He spoke at the 2022 Annual Public Procurement Summit of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency (LSPPA), with the theme: ‘Procurement to save – performing procurement to achieve savings in government expenditure’

Commissioner for Finance and Chairman Governing Council of Lagos Procurement Agency Rabiu Olowo said: “Procurement does not operate in a vacuum. To sustain relationship between government contractors and service providers, the agency has strengthened its partnership with key Ministries Departments and Agencies to remove bottlenecks.”

He urged contractors and service providers, who transacted with the state government, to demonstrate high ethical values through timely delivery of contracts awarded to them without compromising the agreed quantity or quality.

The Director General of LSPPA, Fatai Onafowote, said the summit was to share experience and insight with stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
