The Chairman, Governing Council of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Abidu Rafindadi Yazid, is dead.

The Katsina State born was said to have died in the early hours of yesterday.

The Registrar and Secretary to council, Dr. Fola Olowoleni, said: “This is to notify you of the sudden demise of our beloved council Chairman, Mallam Abidu Rafindadi Yazid, which sad event occurred in the early hours of today (yesterday).

“The university community condoles with the family, emirate, Katsina State Government and the entire people of Katsina State. We pray God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“We pray God for the repose of the soul and also pray God to grant him eternal rest. May God forgive his shortcomings and admit him into aljanah firdaous.”
