Six kidnap victims escape ISWAP abductors in Borno

Six security operatives abducted by the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) Terrorists in Borno State have all regained freedom.

The Nation learnt that about six security operatives from the North Eastern Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State were abducted in the early hours of Saturday.

A counter insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, said the victims escaped after a military super Tukano Fightet Jet launched a fierce pursuit of the terrorist.

Zagazola was quoted as saying that the operation was carried out by  gallant troops of 5 Brigade Operation Hadin Kai, Gubio backed by the Air Task Force(ATF) Super Tukano, which chased  the fleeing  terrorists who ran  towards the axis of Gadai Village, Nganzai Local Government of Borno State.

Zagazola added that “the  security men were attacked and abducted at the Rural Urban Migration Site(RUGA), at Pompom Baliya Village located about five  kilometers to Gubio.

“It was at that moment that the  victims also ran towards a separate direction and escaped from the captivity of the terrorists,” he said.

The source added that “the security operatives,  six in number, are safe and some have returned to Gubio town while one other was on his way back.

“They include one policeman, three Civilian Joint Task Force and two hunters,” he said.
