An 84 – year – old man Stephen Jack has been arrested by police operatives in Ogun state in connection with defiling of an eight year old girl.
The suspect who resides in Okun Owa area of Ijebu Ode was arrested following complaints reported at Obalende divisional headquarters by the victim’s father, who told the police that he discovered that his daughter was bleeding from her private part, and when he asked the little girl of the cause, she informed him that the suspect had sex with her.
Detectives stormed the scene and apprehended the suspect on the instruction of the Divisional Police Officer for Obalende division, SP Murphy Salami.

The Police Spokesperson in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this to newsmen yesterday.
Oyeyemi, a Superintendent of Police (SP), said preliminary investigation revealed that the old man is a known pedophile in the area.
He added that the victim had been taken to the General Hospital Ijebu Ode for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, had directed that the suspect be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments for more investigation and possible prosecution.
