Lagos State governor Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu at the weekend advised Christian pilgrims from Lagos State to exhibit godly lifestyle.
She said this would make the state a better place to live in for everyone.
Mrs. Sanwo-Olu spoke at a thanksgiving service for the 2022 pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Jerusalem and Kingdom of Jordan at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja.
The governor’s wife said the pilgrimage had impacted on the pilgrims positively and brought about spiritual rejuvenation and transformation, hence the need to exhibit good character and be worthy ambassadors of Jesus Christ.
She said: “Let me urge you especially now that you are back from the holy land to exhibit positive values and continue with godly virtues in the state. I express optimism that the state government will continue to benefit from such spiritual exercises.”
She hailed the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) for conducting a hitch-free pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan.

Home Affairs Commissioner Prince Anofiu Elegushi said the theme of the thanksgiving: “Peculiar People”, was apt, as it portrayed the challenges encountered by the pilgrims and the agency of government, as this was the first time that there would be a combine pilgrimage to Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan.
He hailed the pilgrims for good conduct throughout the journey and for putting their trust in the government to conduct a seamless exercise.
The Secretary, LSCPWB, Mrs. Yetunde Gbafe, thanked Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his support towards the success of the pilgrimage, as well as Exco members.
In his sermon, Pastor Femi Emmanuel reminded the congregation of the importance of thanking God and showing gratitude always, saying all things work together for good.
Dignitaries at the thanksgiving service included the incoming Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mrs. Ololade Aina; Lagos State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Stephen Adegbite; Chairman, LSCPWB, Rt. Rev. Babatunde Akinpelu-Johnson; other board members, among others.
