Lagos State Government has beat other states to emerge as the best state in digital infrastructure for development.
The state also won seven other top awards- Lagos State Internal Revenue Services (LIRS) got three awards, Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA) received two awards, Ministry of Science and Technology got one award, while the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. Hakeem Fahm, received an award for special contribution to the ICT Sector.
A statement by the Director, Public Affairs, Ministry of Science and Technology, Bola Akingbade, said the awards were presented at the 6th edition of the annual Tech Innovation Awards, formerly called Nigeria Tech Innovation and Telecoms Awards (NTITA), widely known as Nigeria’s ICT Oscars Awards.
Fahm, who received the award on behalf of the state government, said the awards were conferred on the state as a reflection of the buoyant tech ecosystem and the move to provide a world-class environment for Information and Communication Technology [ICT].
