Commissioner: maintenance a priority

Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, has promised to ensure the standard of state housing schemes is not tampered with.

He said maintenance of facilities is one priority of the government.

The commissioner said as part of the THEMES agenda of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led administration, the ministry would ensure durability of the infrastructure.

Akinderu-Fatai said: “Lagos…  is working on initiatives targeted at guaranteeing a longer lifespan of infrastructure in its housing schemes. The infrastructure, which include central sewage treatment plants, water treatment plants, network of roads and drainages, generator are in place to add value to all estates… he said.

He enjoined home owners to take charge of the facilities and report maintenance issues to facility managers.

Akinderu-Fatai said government had inaugurated 17 schemes, with five at Odo-Onosa/Ayandelu, Agbowa, Gbagada, Egan-Igando cluster 1 and Sangotedo Phase 2 almost completed.
